Throughout the two days, the Knowledge Fair will be your networking hub and a space to connect, engage, and learn.


We have a number of fringe events which are varied, engaging, and tailored to enable you to gain actionable insights, challenging conclusions and recommendations that are sector focused.


Day one:

8:45am - 9:45am: Homes for Cathy breakfast briefing (pre-registration required, via event app)
This is an opportunity to explore how housing associations can play a part in ending homelessness. Hear from Homes for Cathy chair David Bogle, the National Housing Federation's Alistair Smyth and Jean Templeton, Chief Executive of St Basil's and chair of WMCA Homelessness Taskforce. Network with group members who are doing great work to tackle homelessness and discover more about implementing the Homes for Cathy commitments in your own organisation.

9am - 9:30am: Welcome breakfast at NHF stand
Drop by the NHF stand to meet the team, ask any questions you have about the Summit or to learn more about the work and ambitions of the NHF. The perfect icebreaker.

12:30pm - 1pm: Partner clinic: financial resilience

Come and meet the NHF’s Preferred and Sector partners to discuss how they can specifically support housing associations with the main challenges you’re facing. This clinic will focus on financial resilience.

1:45pm - 2:45pm: Rural Housing Alliance lunch (invite only)

3:30pm - 4pm: Together with Tenants drop-in session: how safe is my home? Everyone deserves a safe warm cost effective home
The Tenant Advisory Panel welcomes you to drop-in to have an open discussion. We are a diverse panel of residents with years of experience working in partnership with our housing associations from all over England. We want to share with you the delicate balance of providing safe homes with positive engagement with residents that may help to avoid lengthy claims.

3:30pm - 4pm: Partner clinic: resident engagement
Come and meet the NHF’s Preferred and Sector partners to discuss how they can specifically support housing associations with the main challenges you’re facing. This clinic will focus on resident engagement.

5:30pm - 7pm: Networking reception in Knowledge Fair
Join colleagues in the Knowledge Fair to unwind, share your experiences, discuss key session takeaways and to make those all-important connections.

PlaceShapers
The team at PlaceShapers would be delighted to welcome you to their drinks reception. Please do come along to meet with and chat with their new Chief Executive Catherine Ryder, members of the board and the core team. It will also be an opportunity to hear all about their refreshed strategy which has been shaped by what their members are telling them is at the heart of their resident’s needs.

BME National
All are welcome to join members of BME National, a collective of housing associations who work in diverse neighbourhoods, for informal networking drinks. We’ll hear a short speech from Cym D’Souza about the latest from BME National and you will have the opportunity to engage with colleagues old and new over informal drinks.

Midlands networking drinks
NHF members from the West and East Midlands are welcome to join us for informal networking drinks and an opportunity to catchup with local colleagues

7pm ‘til late: Fundraising networking evening
You’re invited to join us at the Pitcher and Piano in Brindley Place for a relaxed and fun evening. You will enjoy food and drink while listening to music from a local band and you can capture the moment in our photobooth We’ll also continue to fundraise for Change into Action and will be announcing the winners of the charity raffle, with amazing prizes on offer including two tickets to a show of your choice at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, a hotel night in Birmingham and so much more.

Day two:

7:30am - 8am: Summit run
Get off to a positive and healthy start to the day by joining colleagues for a run around Birmingham. All abilities welcome.

8:10am - 9:00am: Networking breakfast for smaller housing associations (Members only – housing associations with fewer than 2500 homes, pre-registration required via event app)
An opportunity to connect with smaller housing associations from across the country and discuss some of the key issues facing the sector at this informal breakfast networking event, jointly hosted by Jesse Fajemisin, Chair of the NHF National Smaller Housing Network, and Karen Cooper, Chair of g320.

10:45am - 11:15am: Partner clinic: quality of existing homes

Come and meet the NHF’s Preferred and Sector partners to discuss how they can specifically support housing associations with the main challenges you’re facing. This clinic will focus on the quality of existing homes.

12:00pm - 1pm: Together with Tenants drop-in session: why resident voices are essential in asset management
Giving every resident the opportunity to have a voice. Why resident voices are essential in asset management for housing associations and contractors. Drop-in to hear it from a resident perspective. Discuss and explore overcoming the challenges. The Tenant Advisory Panel is a diverse panel of residents with years of experience working in partnership with our housing associations from all over England.
